Our history
Odyssey school network
Supported by French institutions, the Odyssey school network is based on a philosophy rooted in the tradition of excellence in French education, multilingualism, an international outlook and personal development.
EFI Bucarest was founded with this specific approach in mind, and it is our mission to offer an exceptional education in a special and dynamic environment, where students of all nationalities can share the joy of learning. EFI Bucarest is based in a single campus in the centre of Bucharest, near Piata Romana, in a historical building that used to house the Romanian Literature Museum.
fundamental foundation of knowledge
Any successful education requires a fundamental foundation of knowledge, but also of trust, because children only learn well when they feel safe, supported and understood. In partnership with their families, our role is therefore to support our pupils in their intellectual and personal development, to guide them, to encourage them and to motivate them to surpass themselves.
French school curriculum
EFI Bucarest students follow the French school curriculum, as recognised by the French government and in accordance with French National Education programmes. The school is approved by the French Ministry of Education for all primary cycles.
Our school’s academic vision is founded on the French idea of general culture, enhanced by a bilingual education, delivered by international teachers. The school draws on this dual French and international foundation to create a trilingual (French, English, Romanian) and multicultural teaching environment, unique in Bucharest.

EFI Bucharest also provides a lively and welcoming environment where our students receive personalised support.
